The mangrove initiative was endorsed by the Vunivalu, the Serua provincial chief, and planting, with the assistance of OISCA, was carried out communally whereby each of the 6 tokatoka was assigned a hectare to plant. Monies earned from the project are intended to assist in village programmes.
