Vunaniu Village, Serua
Site Description
Beach erosion and tidal waves are two major problems faced by this coastal village so the Vunaniu Village Planters have decided to take more proactive measures in protecting their shoreline and beachfront property by planting mangroves along the tidal flats fronting the ocean. Under the guidance of OISCA they have planted a 2.5 hectare area of Rhizophora stylosa (Tiri Tabua) to help address these issues.
